JioPhone was introduced as "India ka Smartphone" for an "effective price of Rs. 0".

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani took the stage to deliver his speech at the company’s AGM in Mumbai. Last year Mr.Ambani used the opportunity to announce the launch of Reliance Jio services. The focus at this year’s Reliance AGM is on the JioPhone, a 4G-capable feature phone that could potentially have an even bigger impact on India’s mobile and telecom landscape.

Reliance Jio has decreased the price tags of some LYF smartphones by up to half the initial prices. The smartphones with available on the official Jio.com website. Go have a look at the new prices and pick the one that you've wanted.

 JioPhone buyers will get an alphanumeric keypad, 2.4-inch display with QVGA display, SD card slot, torchlight, FM radio. It will come with a digital voice assistant, support for 22 Indian languages, and a panic button.

It even understands Hindi voice commands, they just asked the phone to play "Vande Mataram" in Hindi.

Any JioPhone can long-press the 5 key and the phone will automatically send a distress message to your emergency contacts.

However, the company will charge Rs. 1,500 as a refundable sum for the device from users. This sum can be claimed by the customer at the end of 36 months of purchase.

A "Jio Phone TV Cable" accessory for the phone will enable any user to connect the device to any TV, even if they have an ancient CRT Television. Content from the phone will be directly mirrored on the TV via this accessory.

I got hands on this device a week ago just before it was launched in india.
It was from US and my friend bought it from there because of his brother who has advised him to get that.
So I was kinda excited to see it!

Canvas turbo mini price drop on Flipkart

I have created this post because the price of turbo mini has fallen from 15k to 10.8k straight and might interest some people.


Its a Dual SIM, GSM + GSM handset (probably dual standby).Available in white and blue color variants.


Sailing on the Android v4.2 (Jelly Bean) will offer a smooth performance.
Loaded with the same 1.3GHz quad core processor as on canvas 2.2 A114 which is a good performer in terms of gaming and benchmark however the display resolution difference will have an effect.


Sporting an 8mp shooter on the back and an 5 on the front. Which seems okay for the price.

Display Sizes 4.69 Inches.With a Resolution of 1280 x 720 Pixels its an IPS Display which generally means better viewing angles and color reproduction.

Gionee launched the Gionee Elife S5.5 in China-Worlds slimmest phone

Gionee today launched the Gionee Elife S5.5 in China, they call it the world’s slimmest smartphone for a reason.
It has thickness of just 5.5mm. Less than any smartphone currently known.
Elife S5.5 sports the thinnest AMOLED Plus screen with corning gorilla glass protection(not known yet possibly CGG2).


The screen size is 5 inches (probably 1080p resolution).It supports single SIM and is powered by 1.7GHz octa core processor following many other octa core handsets.

It runs on Amigo OS 2.0 (customized) which is based on Android 4.2 with 2GB RAM and a modest 16GB storage.
